Thirteen years ago, at the age of 21, I gave birth to my first son. Fast forward to today, and I am now a proud mum of three – two cheeky boys and one beautiful little princess.

I have a loving husband, a wonderful family, a comfortable home, and a life I am incredibly grateful for. But alongside that happiness have come some of the biggest challenges I could ever imagine.

Both of my boys have additional needs, including Asperger's, ADHD, ASD, developmental delay, and behavioural challenges. As a first-time mum with no understanding of these conditions, I often felt overwhelmed. Trying to balance work, family life, appointments, and everyday motherhood was incredibly difficult. But as mothers do, I found the strength to keep going.

When my beautiful daughter was just nine days old, our world turned upside down. She contracted RSV and adenovirus and had to be placed into an induced coma. Thanks to the incredible doctors, nurses, and support teams at Birmingham Children's Hospital and Ronald McDonald House, she made a full recovery. I will never forget the kindness and care they showed our family during the hardest days of our lives.

Motherhood has also taken its toll on me physically and emotionally. I've had three Caesarean sections—one emergency and two planned. I've experienced infections, blood loss, mastitis, weight fluctuations, a loss of confidence, anxiety, PTSD, and many moments where I questioned myself.

The truth is, motherhood is bloody hard—no matter how old your children are.

That is where the idea for Go Yum Mum was born.

I wanted to create more than just a clothing brand. I wanted to create clothing that supports our ever-changing bodies while also supporting the incredible women wearing it. A brand that reminds every mum that whatever she's feeling, she is not alone.

Go Yum Mum is about confidence, comfort, and community. When you wear our clothing, you're becoming part of something bigger—a community of mums who lift each other up, support one another, and celebrate every stage of motherhood.

Life isn't perfect. We all make mistakes, and I've certainly made my fair share. But I've learned that kindness, helping others, and building a supportive community can turn even our hardest experiences into something meaningful.

My hope is that Go Yum Mum becomes more than a brand. I want it to be a reminder that every mum deserves to feel seen, supported, confident, and beautiful—exactly as she is.

Because behind every mum is a story.

And no mum should ever have to write hers alone.
